What do palliative care staff do?

The professionals involved in your care will depend on what sort of care and support you need. They are usually based in the community – outside of a hospital or hospice.

Other professionals are trained in giving palliative care specifically and may help to manage more complex needs. These are sometimes called specialist palliative care professionals.

All of the professionals involved in your care work together. This is sometimes called your palliative care multi-disciplinary team or MDT.
